Keratoconus Symptoms

A symptom is a departure from normal function or feeling which is noticed by the patient, indicating the presence of disease or abnormality. A symptom is subjective , observed by the patient , and cannot be measured directly.

The Symptoms of Keratoconus are as follows:

•Initially, asymptomatic

•Visual degradation 

•Ocular irritation

•Shadows around letters

•Monocular diplopia

•Flare

•Photophobia

Occurrence of Keratoconus is as follows:

•About 1 in 2000 in general population

•More common in hot, dry climates

•Sexes affected equally

•Onset may be earlier in females
